Visions & Disappointments

Dear Friends,

Here on the East Coast it is hard to tell what month it is. If you gauge the season by the weather, you might think it is March, with the colder temperatures and winds. Though we have had a few days of great spring weather, we have had more days that have not been so great. Last Saturday, it was gorgeous and around 82 degrees and then yesterday, the high was 58 with 30 mph winds. I guess one of the characteristics to living on the Jersey Shore is the unpredictability of the weather. I am looking forward to getting warmer weather here once and for all.

Vision & Disappointments

Have you had God give you a vision or a dream, and you stepped out to start, and nothing seemed to work, everything seemed to stop? Maybe everything started coming against you or was telling you there is no way this will ever happen? On the inside you wanted to quit, and even said to God, it is not worth it. But deep down, inside your spirit, you know what God spoke to you and you know you must go forward, but you ask yourself, how? When will I see a change? How do I continue?

Being in full time ministry the past 32 years, I have experienced this first hand many times, and I have watched others go through it as well. When you know what the assignment is, and you know the timing is now, but it still has not taken off, what do you do? The answer is really very simple, you go back and do what got you to this place, get in the Word of God, spend more time with Him, and listen to what He tells you to do and do it!

Part of the journey with God, is being positioned to where you are totally dependent on Him. This Divine positioning is what He does best and can make us very uncomfortable. Living on the edge with Him, can be very lonely and very uneasy. But it is here, where you will see the greatest miracles of anybody on the planet. It is here, on the edge with Him, that He does what He does best, and that is moving everything in heaven and earth for our benefit.

Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” When it looks like it is not working, I am here to tell you, it is working, you just cannot see it. When your mind tells you your nuts and it is time to quit, when others question if you really heard God, when your enemy screams at you, “you are done”, what do you do, you believe God!

When God gives a vision, He sees the end before He shows you the beginning! If He releases the vision to you, that means it will be successful, for He has never failed and never will, He is almighty God!!! Hold on to that vision, do not quit, for God has seen you as being faithful in fulfilling it!

Sure, disappointments will come, but God!! I said, but God!!! Even God Himself has disappointments at times. He was furious at man, His very own creation when they rebelled against Him, and He wanted to destroy man. But a man of God reminded Him of His own words, and God changed His mind and repented to Moses. Imagine that, God so disappointed that He wanted to wipe out His creation but He backed off, and gave man another chance because one person stood in the gap, interceded, and declared to God that He must not give up on those who were rebelling against Him. Wow!

Disappointments will come, it will not always be a smooth ride. This notion, that whenever you follow God, the journey becomes easy and smooth is not what the Bible teaches. It will be rough at times. At times, you may feel like God has abandoned you! But know when Heaven goes silent, there is activity in the spiritual realm and God is getting ready to show Himself strong on your behalf! Hang in there, it will get better, because of Him!

Walking on Water and Failing

A God given vision will at some time cause you to get out of your boat and walk on the water. There will be a moment, when you make a quality decision to leave your comfort zone, and venture out into the unknown to answer the call of God! When you get out of your boat and start walking, is when the true journey of faith begins. Now it is you, Jesus and the elements!

What will you do? Will you keep walking or will you give up? As long as you keep walking with your eyes on Jesus, your faith will allow you to do the impossible! But once you get your eyes off of Jesus and onto other things, you will start to sink and failure will be right in front of you! Keep walking and keep looking at Jesus!

If you do start to sink, reach out to Jesus and He will lift you up! He will walk with you again, and help get you back to the boat, and take you to places you never dreamed of, with Him! He loves you more than He loves the vision/dream He has given you, never forget that!!

 Coming Back to Jesus Moments

We have all been there, your proceeding down the path Jesus has been leading you down, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Jesus seems to disappear, Heaven goes silent, and you feel all alone. You pray, seek God, and nothing. You talk to spiritual leaders and advisors and nothing. You pray some more, read the Bible and nothing. Even the anointing seems to be gone!

You get restless, your emotions are screaming at you, and you find yourself yelling/screaming at God! Where are you? Do you care? Why is the vision not going forward? Is this the end? Am I done? Did you bring me this far, to just drop me? Where are you?

Nothing but silence! These are what I call, coming back to Jesus moments! Why must we have moments like these? I think it’s because He loves us so much, He wants to see if our relationship with Him more important than the assignment He has given us? I think that may be He wants us to empty ourselves of ourselves, so we can be filled with Him and Him only! I think it is because He wants to make sure we will be successful and that will only happen, if He is calling the shots.

During these moments, have enough sense to realize, God is still there. He feels what you feel! And He wants your attention! He wants to help you! He wants to take you from this place to a better place! His desire is to fill your heart with Himself and then use you for His glory! Will you let Him have His way? Surrender your will, the vision/dream to Him, and watch Him go to work with you once again!

Remember, He called you, you did not call Him! This is His work, this is His dream, this is His vision! He has picked you out of the crowd! With over 7 billion people alive today on the earth, He picked you for this assignment.

He saw you as being faithful, obedient, and successful! No one else can do this the way you can do it. See yourself as He sees you, be confident in Him, and allow Him to use you for His plans and purposes! You can do this because He is doing it with you! Allow Him to lead, you follow, and watch the fulfillment of everything He has shown you, appear right before you. He is faithful and so are you!

Kim and I are so thankful for our prayer and financial partners. Every prayer is felt and needed. Every dollar given helps us reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray for you, our partners every week. We cherish our connection with you and appreciate your support.

We are still looking for more prayer partners. Please pray as God tugs on your heart for us and let us know by email if you are a new prayer partner for us, as that will greatly encourage us. Our email is:

Your prayers enable us to travel to meetings smoothly, increase the anointing in our meetings, help us flow in His Spirit, keep us healthy, and many other attributes. Your financial support helps us pay the bills, including rent for our monthly meetings on Staten Island, gas and tolls for the car, etc. We could not do what we do without your financial help.

We are still believing for our first 25 financial partners with an overall goal of 100. Please consider being a part of what God is doing through this ministry with your financial gift. We believe for every person who gives to us, for God to bring you a harvest you do not have room enough to contain. As we reach out to see people saved, healed, restored, and delivered by the power of God, your reward is the same as ours. Your help in sending us, is just as important as us going. Without your support, we would not be able to go. So please prayerfully consider becoming one of our financial supporters.

For all of you who have been praying and giving of your finances, thank you! We love and appreciate all you do for us. May His blessings overtake you.

If you want to start being a financial partner (someone who gives any amount on a monthly basis) you can give one of two ways; you can mail a check made payable to Jere Peterson Ministries, PO Box 15, Lavallette, NJ 08735 or you can go on our secure website at and give your donation there. You can also give one time donations these ways as well. All financial gifts are tax-deductible.

Thank you once again for standing with us. We love and appreciate you!

Reaching people with the Gospel,

Jere & Kim Peterson
