I am sitting here in Broken Arrow, OK at our friend’s house, having just spent time with my daughter Christine, her husband Cameron, our grandsons Landon and Jace at the Tulsa Zoo. The temperature is 97 degrees with a heat index of 107 degrees. Yes, the cool August weather has left us and the normal Tulsa August weather is back. It is hot!!!!!!!!
Do You Believe?
A couple weeks ago, as I was getting ready to sleep, the Holy Ghost said these three words to me, “Do You Believe?” I knew it was a message to me for several churches I would be speaking in during this recent trip to MN, KS, OK and AR.
He then asked me a series of questions:
1. What do you believe about God?
2. What do you believe about faith?
3. What do you believe about healing?
4. Does God still do miracles today?
5. Do you believe in the Bible?
6. What do you believe about Jesus?
7. Does God still save, deliver, restore, and heal today?
8. Do you believe in prayer, and does God answer your prayers?
9. Do you believe God still raises people up to do His work?
10. Do you believe in the tribulation, the second coming, and the rapture of the church?
If a TV crew put a microphone in your face, how would you answer each of these questions? And if you believe question #10, are you making decisions in your life, based on your answer to this question?
He then shared with me this simple truth; “I have made it easy for my people to believe. It is not hard!” No matter what you need for God to do for you today, He has made it easy, just believe!
In Mark 11:23, “For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (NKJV)
Notice the word says and say show up 3 times in this verse. But the word believe shows up only 1 time, and it comes after we are told to not doubt in our heart. Another place in the Bible, Jesus told some religious people, why do you reason in your heart? He was shocked they had done this! Why?
Because the mind was made to reason with, not the heart. Your mind is where you reason and your heart is what you believe with. Your heart He is talking about is your Spirit, not the organ that pumps blood throughout your body. Your spirit, the real you, is where you believe!
You cannot be double minded and receive from God, as the book of James shows us. Be single minded, remove the doubt, and simply BELIEVE!
You can do this. You can receive from God! He has made it easy! Just believe! Receive what you need today, by simply believing God and what He has said in His Word! Now is your time, this is your season of success, it is time for you to move upward and become the head and not the tail, and walk in victory!
So do you believe? Only you can answer the question! If you have struggled in the past, get rid of the doubt and simply believe God!!
We started this ministry trip by driving from NJ to Minneapolis, MN. We were able to spend some time with my oldest son Josh and his wife Erika and our granddaughters, Violet and Aspen. We so enjoyed being with them and we had a lot of fun on a trip to the zoo.
The girls invited us to several of their tea parties and we enjoyed bringing them some surprises from G-Ma and Papa.
We preached for our good friend, Pastor Greg Warner, Life Family Church in N Mankato, MN. We had powerful service and many lives were changed.
Next we stopped in to see my first in-laws, Ralph and Mildred Carroll in Olathe, KS. We enjoyed having lunch with them, and catching up on all of the family news.
We continued our journey to Tulsa, OK where we saw and stayed with our friends in Broken Arrow, Russ and Helena. They have been so kind to us and we always look forward to spending time with them. They have graciously opened their home to us, for which we are eternally grateful!
Since arriving in the Tulsa area we have experienced a night of tornados (not real close to us), attended the Fire for the Nations Conference, and have seen several friends. We have also been able to eat some really good BBQ, Mexican, and other types of food we do not get back in NJ.
Also, I was able to take Kim to the Prayer Tower and the Prayer Garden on the campus of Oral Robert’s University. There was such a strong presence of God in the Prayer Tower that Kim almost ended up on the floor. She did not know she was by Oral’s Bible and His notes of his famous sermon on the fourth man! Remarkable and life changing! God’s vision continues!
