Today is a wonderful day here at the Shore in NJ! Kim and I have already had breakfast, been on a bike ride, and will later today head to the beach. Living at the Shore does have its’ advantages! God has been so good to us and I know He is being good to you as well. Keep trusting and watch Him bring your life to
a place of fulfillment!
Faith takes Action
The Bible declares to us that we need to have corresponding actions to our faith. That means, when we walk in faith, our actions will back up our faith. If our actions are not in line with our faith, then we really are not in faith at all. James 2:17, “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” (NKJV) The Message Bible puts it this way, “Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?”
This brings up the question, how does God talk? We see in Genesis 1 that when God spoke things appeared. When He said, let there be light, light came. When He said something, things were formed and appeared. That is the same way we should talk. Our faith comes out of our mouth, and we believe what we speak will come to pass, just the way we speak it!
As we develop our faith, we should see God move in a way that brings confidence in His ability to answer our prayers. When we live a life of faith it pleases God, Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
We must first believe in God, and then believe He will bring great things in our life as we continue to seek Him. Seeking God is the one thing we can do that will bring His goodness to us in a remarkable way! So go ahead, launch out in faith, believe God, and watch Him bring to pass what you are believing for. Just remember, what you are believing for, must line up with the Word of God!
You Can Have What You Say
Mark 11:22-24 says, “So Jesus answered and said to them, have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, Be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Notice 3 times it talks about us speaking, and only one time does it mention believing. We know the Bible says that out of the abundance of our heart, our mouth speaks. So our heart is tied to our mouth. If we fill up our heart with the Word of God, then His Word will be coming out of our mouth.
If we will simply believe that we receive what we have asked for or declared, then the Bible says, we can have what we say. So the question is, what do you need? Put your faith into action, find 2-3 scriptures that are in line with what you are believing for, and stand on what the Bible says you can have.
Faith is not hard, but it is single minded. James 1:6-8, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Be single minded, when you are standing on God’s Word in faith, there is no doubt. Faith does not doubt. Faith believes! Are you doubting or are you believing?
If you find there is doubt in your heart, then stop the doubt, and start believing what the Bible says! You can do this! Make the change to faith and watch God go to work for and with you! Nothing is impossible to you, because nothing is impossible to God! Never forget that!!
We had a great Food Outreach on Staten Island on June 24th. We partnered with New Beginnings Christian Church in Brick, NJ for the outreach. They brought their Mobile Food Pantry truck and a crew to Staten Island and joined our crew. The truck was full of 104 boxes of food that Kim and workers from the church had packed.
Prior to our leaving the church for Staten Island, the head of the Food Pantry told us to wait while he made a quick trip to Costcos. He came back with fresh salad to add to the eggs, fruit, and numerous other types of food.
We first stopped at Allied Manor, and people were already waiting outside for the food truck. In fact, some of the women had been waiting in the lobby since 9:00 am, even though they knew the outreach did not start till 11:00 am. This is a low income housing complex with just over 100 units in it, made up of elderly people. We gave out 67 boxes of food here, which means 66% of the people came for food! This was a God deal for sure!
The people told us, no one had done this for over 15 years. Another person who has lived there for 26 years could not remember a time when people came and handed out FREE food! The people were so appreciative, grateful, and thankful that we came.
We also gave out over 50 Bibles, several Hispanic Bibles that were donated by one of our crew members from Staten Island, and were told some people needed Chinese Bibles. We have 4 Chinese Bibles and just found a source who will be giving us 6 more to hand out to the people there. God is faithful!
We were able to pray with a lot of people as well! They were open to prayer because of the FREE food! Lives were changed by the love of God!
Our next stop was at Lafayette Manor, where we gave out 37 boxes of food! Again, the people were waiting on us. This too is a low income housing complex of older people, no children.
